Fall is a time for change!

This time of the year starts off so strange for me. I am such a summer girl so for me it is always so hard to say goodbye to the beach and the summer fun. So I always start off September a little sad :(. But then, I get this surge of excitement for renewal! Perhaps it's because my birthday is in September or because it is when school starts... who knows!

Fall to me always feels like the beginning of the year much more than January. The fall air feels fresh and crisp, which is the perfect time to harvest the seeds of my best self! Normally in January we set new intentions and goals for the New Year, but it is always seems so hard to keep these promises. I believe for many reasons...

-It is freezing cold outside!

-The holidays are over, friends and family go home.

-Financial depression sets in!

-Social activity comes to a screeching halt.

-We have extra baggage of over indulging from the holiday celebrations.

Feels like a crappy time to set new intentions and goals! The energy of January is all about hibernation and it just does not feel natural to start a new you. You cannot plant seeds in the winter ground. Instead, the fall is a perfect time! The energy of starting out fresh is already ingrained in us from little kids preparing for school. You start the fall with a fresh clean notebook just ready for your ideas to be written in and a new wardrobe to express yourself through. There is an excitement in the air of all the possibilities and new beginnings! I would guess I am not the only one who feels this way about the fall season, it has been engrained in our DNA to naturally feel this way. Even Nature tells us this is true! It just feels natural to start fresh and plant new seeds this time of the year.

So... I would like to change this up a bit and treat fall like the new year!

What seeds of new possibilities would you like to harvest?

Think about what your best self could bloom to be. What does this 'best self' look like to you? You can simply write down your intentions and place them in an area that you will see every day like on your mirror or in your daily planner or you can try something a little more hands on...

Here is a fun little exercise you can do to help manifest your seedlings.

1) Get yourself a few seeds of some sort, be it plant or flower of your choice.

2) Pick a place or pot to plant these seeds and bless the soil with all good intentions.

*If you choose a pot for your seeds you can write the intentions for each seed all around the pot, being a visual reminder of what you are wanting to grow.

3) Every seed you place in the soil I want you to say out loud what your intention is for this little seed. What do you wish to manifest?

Example: I want to gain more confidence. I want to be healthy. I want a loving relationship. I want success. I want a new pair of shoes :) Hey, it is your wish and you can wish for whatever you want!

Now cover them up with soil while infusing the energies of excitement and love. Make a promise to nourish these seeds and work with them so that they may grow and BLOOM into your life! ❀

Sally says that most of her clients are moms. She works with them to not only dress their post-baby body but their person as well. Sally admits that losing a sense of self as a mom is easy to do. In fact, it happened to her.

"During our life's journey, we take on many personas. For me, it was daughter, sister, interior designer, feng shui student, wife, mother, life coach and hairstylist," she said. "However, after many joyous years of raising my children, something changed. My identity was defined by being a mom. I hate to admit it, but I felt a bit lost - like the real me was stuck in the back of a long line, just waiting to make it to the front. But the line wasn't moving."

Sally created Harmonic Life & Style to help individuals discover their true self and authentic style.

Soul stylist Sally Miller will lead a fashion workshop this Thursday during a BTBS meeting.

On Thursday, March 4, stylist Sally Miller of Harmonic Life & Style LLC will give moms the "biggest style secret ever." She describes this secret as a "fabulous freebie that is totally overlooked and the key ingredient to style success." It is also something that she said, "will change the way you get dressed forever."

Sally describes herself as a "soul stylist," which she said is someone who helps individuals discover and live their lives authentically.

"Positive energy is my vibe, and I am committed to setting people free from the energetic limitations and restrictions that hold them back from knowing and living a harmonious lifestyle," she said. "Rock who you are!"

The workshop is part of the March meeting of Beyond the Bus Stop (BTBS), a national organization that empowers and supports moms to live their dreams. The Chester County chapter will meet at 7 p.m. at At Your Service in downtown West Chester.

It's hard enough tweaking a wardrobe to play to the strengths of a post-baby body, but trying to do so while juggling kids, career and the multitude of other mom tasks can seem nearly impossible.

As a result, BTBS notes that it's easy to get lost in today's fashion, especially for moms who have been many sizes during the child bearing years and who have experienced many emotional changes as well. During the workshop, Sally will teach attendees to define and express their unique style.

Sally's top advice for moms is to "listen to their inner desires" and to "stop judging themselves."

"Great style is easy to achieve on any budget," she said. "You owe it to yourself to feel GREAT about yourself. Good enough is just NOT acceptable. Make the time to express your true self always even if you only have time to throw on a accessory. Just make sure it is a match to your energy," she said.

Authentic is also sexy, Sally said.

The energy of love is universal. It transends all genders, racies and languages. Animals understand love, as do plants and art such as music.

I think us humans have got the love thing all screwed up! I see alot of people looking outward for love. People tend to identify love with when someone loves them. Thinking that true love is when someone else is very much interested in you passionately. This may be one form of love and affection, but is it really what LOVE is? If you do not first love yourself then how will others know how to love you? How can you love someone else if you don't know what it is to love YOU!

I believe that great love is something we already have. It is an energy that lives inside of us and it is always there. It is called 'self love'. Self love is the ONLY true love! This is the love that we can forever count on because it will not ever leave us. It is part of our being. You just need to become aware of it and then bring it to the surface. We spend so much time and energy thinking about what we do not like about ourselves, then we believe 'Hey, I must not really like or love who I am,' so you don't. Focus on the 'lack of' will only produce more feelings of 'lack of'. What if you took your focus off of the things you do not like about yourself and started to focus on appreciating the things you LOVE about yourself? How would you feel? Would you begin to feel confidant? Would you feel happy? THIS IS SELF LOVE! It has not one thing to do with how your appearance is (although this will improve naturally with self love) or what kind of car you drive, the fancy handbag you are caring. All these things are fun but they do not show who you really are. I have seen some really beautiful people in physical appearance look really ugly! People who are in touch with their self love are authentically beautiful. They have an energy that is powerful and felt just by being their presence. The energy of self love is your power. This is the place where all good things flow from. This is the place you want to live your life from... Self love❤

The energy of newness is in the air on New Year's Eve! As we breathe it fills our lungs and spreads hope to every single cell in our body. It leaves us feeling tingly all over with a sense of excitement and a need to celebrate!

This feeling is our souls’ excitement that we are opening up our minds to the possibilities!

It may seem silly to some that we celebrate New Year's Eve... The end of one year and the beginning of a new one. Some say " Don't believe the hype" or "It's just another day, another year". Well, I don't buy that for one-second!!

There is an undeniable energy around on New Year's Eve, you can feel it! You turn on the tv and you see the highlights of 2009, the ups and downs of yet another moment in time. Ahhhhhh The holidays!

When I reflect and compare to how the holidays were for me in the past and what they are to me today, I am so amazed! In the past, I seemed to be so caught up in the stress of gift buying, baking, decorating, parties... and so on. But, now I see the beauty in the holiday season. This year, I am really feeling the energy of "The holiday spirit". Notice I said SPIRIT. It is the spirit of Christmas that IS the holiday season. Without the spirit, there would be no holiday it would just be any other day.

I challenge you to let go of the holiday stress! Keep in mind that a gift doesn't always have to be something tangible. Give the gift of time, give a big hug, tell someone how special they are, make a homemade gift or share a happy memory. Of course it is fun to give gifts too; especially when you stumble upon something that you know a certain someone would love! But, I guess what I'm saying is…do not just buy gifts to buy a gift, but to give a gift. Give a gift that is authentically from your heart. In addition, wrap those gifts in love and joy. Don’t stress over the piles of wrapping paper . Think about it, do you want to be given gifts like that? Who does?? You know yourself that you can just feel the energy of a thoughtful gift so be conscious of what you are giving and how you are wrapping it. Wrap it with intentions of love.

The stress of celebrating the holiday..... REALLY??? Since when did celebrating become stressful? Okay maybe if you are the one entertaining you might get a bit stressed out, but if you are stressed about going to a party then that is strange! I recently blogged on how you should feel in your holiday outfit http://harmoniclifeandstyle-blog.blogspot.com/ and it is all about dressing your holiday personality and what makes you feel fabulous! So you show up to this holiday bash in your fabulosity and your stressed out about talking to this one or that one, seriously? You are there to celebrate the spirit of the holidays and the good cheer of mankind! You are not there to 'one up' someone or impress others. Be in the energy of having fun! If you are not feeling the vibe of certain conversation then choose another, and another until you find the perfect energy fit for you! I will not tolerate stress in having fun and I now challenge you to do the same!

Shift your energy and complete this season filled with spirit. Constantly remind yourself of what holidays are really about. Choose to be the energy of the spirit of Christmas! Celebrate and enjoy the goodness in mankind. If you allow yourself to be in this positive energy then you will carry it into the new year.

I don't know about you, but I do not want to start off the new year exhausted mentally and physically from the stress of the 2009 holidays. I want to start off 2010 feeling fresh and alive because the new year is full of possibilities! How do you want people to see you? What is the message you are sending?

Take a moment to paint a picture of yourself standing in the party scene. Are you having fun? Are you in a fabulous outfit feeling confident and beautiful? Visualize for a moment... What does my 'holiday party' personality look like? Close your eyes...

Okay, that person you see is how your soul wants you to be seen. Your authentic self is dying to be revealed! All you have to do is get in the energy zone of what your authentic style would look like. There is a certain vibe you get from someone when they look fabulous in their clothes. It is a sexy and powerful vibe and it has nothing to do with the seasons fashion trends. Authentic style is 1/2 fashion and 1/2 your energy. Combine them together and WHAMMOOO!! You have created a harmonic style! Your unique style is another vehicle for your authenticity to travel. Everything about YOU carries an energy that will be received a certain way. It all begins with your thoughts and your intentions and will reveal the real you. If you could dress this party personality what would it wear? It is important to think about your visual energy (your attire), as this is how you will be initially received, your first impression! Visual energy portrays the 'image' of who you really are on the inside. I cannot express enough how important this is!!!! People feel so funny about expressing themselves. All I ask is that if you are drawn to something, then just simply try it on. Remember that there are no rules saying you cant try it on. I often hear people say things like, "I love that dress but it wont look good on me" or "I wish I had the confidence to wear that". Well, GET OVER IT AND TRY IT ON!!! If you do not express yourself, then no one will know who you really are. Slip on those red shoes if your heart is screaming for you to put them on! If you continually deny this impulse, then you will always find yourself in unfavorable situations, sitting on one side of the room wishing you were on the other side. Chose to be on the side where everyone is laughing and living life fully, dressed in their authentic selves. We all desire and want to be received clearly. When you dress who you really are, the YOU will naturally attract all that you desire. It will place you in the flow, making all things possible! Feeling good about your presence will give you the strength to be yourself and the confidence to speak your truth and dance till you drop! Holiday parties can be used as stage to present your fabulosity (yes, I made that word up!) and showcase your gifts. Presenting yourself this way will leave you with a feeling of peace and gratitude. I like to call this place living a 'Harmonic Life & Style'. This is where all of you is in harmony :) May you live, and see life thru this lens ALWAYS. The true authentic YOU! You are so unstoppable when you are in this energy! Imagine living your life this way.... WOW! Imagine everyone on earth living life this way HOLY &%^! Sounds like a recipe for world peace to me! Is it laid back shorts and t-shirt, or maybe bohemian and free spirited!

AHH summer!!!

My favorite season! I love to put away the winter clothes and lighten things up a bit.

There is a shift the occurs in me this time every year. I notice that I start to feel more relaxed and free and it is reflected in my wardrobe too! I always make sure I get some good summer reads, one always being a spiritual 'soul growing' book and the other a dreamy novel. Then I make sure I choose the wardrobe that will represent my intentions for the summer, so I always feel in the flow and authentic. I like to use the energies of the 5 elements ( water~wood~fire~earth~metal) to describe my moods and create a wardrobe from here. Feng shui allows me to feel connected to the earth and harmonious in all areas of my life.

For example~

My water energy needs some free flowing bohemian clothing, like gauzy skirts that blow in the summer breeze.

My wood energy needs some running shorts and yoga clothes.

My Fire energy needs some sexy tops and dresses to show off my tan and head to happy hour!

My earth energy needs some cozy sweats for the colder summer days and nights on the beach.

My metal energy needs a great summer bag and metallic sandals and a designer bathing suit!

My accessories are pulled from all the elements, creating elemental fusion for when I am feeling a little bit of everything!

When we create a wardrobe from our feelings and energies we are always prepared for whatever our mood or environment is for that day. NO MORE standing in your closet stressing over what to where! When your take the time to create a closet that represents your spirit and your intentions you are always ready to go!

It is such a time for me to be free and connect to my spirit, my family and friends. For me summer means that all the rules we have for ourselves all winter..... Fall away. It is only when I let everything go that I can really listen to my soul. It is a great time to start a Harmonic life map! Mapping out your dreams and goals is the first step towards manifesting them into your life. I love the feeling of renewing my spirit and expanding my mind. Summer does this for me :)
